EWA Bio-Regenerative & Longevity Seminar 2024

Integrative Medicine in Chronic Disease Management & Hormonal Optimization

Integrative medicine, a holistic approach combining conventional medical practices with evidence-based complementary therapies, has gained prominence over the decades for its role in managing chronic diseases, frailty, and metabolic syndrome. Rooted in ancient practices but adapted to modern scientific principles, integrative medicine addresses not just symptoms but the root causes of illness, emphasizing prevention, lifestyle changes, and personalized care.

The EWA BLS KK: Integrative and Bio-Regenerative Medicine was held at EWA Auditorium, Kota Kinabalu (Sabah – Malaysia) on the 7th November 2024. It was a full-day seminar designed for healthcare professionals, researchers, paramedics and enthusiasts in chronic disease management and hormonal optimization. Delegates joined the speakers as they shared the insights, innovative angles, and practical approaches to managing chronic diseases and frailty, optimizing hormonal health along the integrated medical trail. This event served as a platform to explore the synergy between existing integrative medicine and modern bio-regenerative science.

Chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, and cancer are the leading causes of death worldwide, accounting for 74% of global deaths annually, as reported by the World Health Organization. Frailty, particularly among aging populations, affects approximately 10% of community-dwelling older adults and significantly increases the risk of hospitalization and mortality, burdening healthcare systems. Metabolic syndrome, a cluster of conditions including obesity, hypertension, and insulin resistance, impacts nearly 25% of adults globally, driving up morbidity rates and associated healthcare costs. Collectively, these conditions cost trillions of dollars annually in direct medical expenses and productivity losses.

By integrating conventional medicine therapies with complementary solutions, integrative medicine offers a patient-centered approach, addressing not only the physical but also the mental and emotional dimensions of these global health key factors.
